Durch Patrouillen in und um die Kleinstadt Nawabad (Dirstrikt Chahar Dareh) westlich von Kundus, Nordafghanistan, versuchen die rund 100 Infanteristen Rueckzugsorte Aufstaendischer unmoeglich zu machen. Unterstuetzt werden sie dabei durch einen Zug afghanischer Soldaten.

Neun bewaffnete Taliban und Selbstmordattentäter haben ein Gerichtsgebäude in der westlichen Provinz Farah gestürmt und mindestens 47 Menschen getötet und 100 weitere verletzt. Die Aufständischen wollten gefangen genommene Taliban befreien. Die Bilder zeigen den Tag nach dem Angriff: Soldaten sichern das Gebäude, während der Alltag für die Bewohner von Farah wieder weitergeht. Viele Menschen sind tot oder liegen im Krankenhaus.
