Before the Turkey-EU refugee deal, hundreds of refugees came to the Greek island of Kos by boat every day. Kos could barely cope anymore. Incoming refugees were put up in make-shift camps in the middle of the city center. Numbers of new arrivals are down now, but many asylum seekers are stuck in an overcrowded camp for months. The situation on the island remains a big challenge for everyone.
