Ukraine struggles with massive Russian drone attacks

Russian forces continue to hammer Ukraine with deadly aerial attacks, including by drones, which have become a key part of the conflict. Both sides are upping production as they adapt to this evolving form of warfare.

Russia has significantly increased attacks on Ukraine using Shahed drones and ballistic missiles. Ukraine, for its part, has signed deals with its EU and US allies to ramp up drone production, aiming to acquire "hundreds of thousands" more unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Despite Russia's bigger military-industrial base, Ukraine hopes that the deal to procure more drones will help even out the battlefield.
