The world's largest telescope — a new eye on the universe

In Chile's Atacama Desert, the universe is coming into focus. When it's finished, the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), the most powerful optical telescope ever, will search for distant Earth-like planets and expand our understanding of the cosmos.
