Strength through music

August 22, 2014

James’s financial situation wasn’t always as good as it is today. It was a song that helped him keep a positive perspective on a tough situation.

In 2006 I was a just high school student with very little money because my family was poor. During those times I would listen to the song “Kikomando” by the Ugandan recording artist Bobi Wine. The song really spoke to me. It said that even the rich don’t have all they need, so if you have little, then be comfortable because some rich people can’t even sleep at night.
These days although I have a good home and enough money to take care of everything, this song still remains in my memory.
