Getting around Kenya's capital Nairobi is a daily struggle for people with disabilities. The public transport system remains largely inaccessible. But one family's personal experience with disability has led to a new business trying to fill the gap.

In Nairobi, wheelchair users face daily challenges accessing public transport, often relying on others to lift them onto buses. Former bus driver Wilson Kamau, now disabled, says nothing has improved. His son, Daniel Gatura, founded Ace Mobility, offering specialized vans for people with disabilities. Despite Kenya's 2010 constitution guaranteeing rights, implementation is slow. A new law sets deadlines — but change may take five years.
