Shubhangi Derhgawen
Journalist covering news and politics, with a sharp focus on policy accountability and human rights.
Her passion for journalism grew out of a deeep interest in systemic inequalities and the lived experiences of communities often left out of mainstream narratives.
Shubhangi began her career at NDTV India, where she covered at length the Covid-19 pandemic, the farmers' protest, and other key political junctures in India. Later, as a freelancer, she contributed ground reports to Ravish Kumar Official, Article 14, and Frontline — investigating everything from state failures in government schools to water crises and how private players bypass community consent to gain control over land for mining.
Her ethnographic research has been featured in academic compilations published by Palgrave Macmillan and Routledge, where she explored labor patterns and informal economies in post-pandemic India.
