Roma, Sinti persecuted in WWII still fight for recognition

In 1956, Germany's Court of Justice ruled that the Nazis had deported Sinti and Roma as a crime prevention measure. It took until 1982 to admit the truth: it was genocide. On August 2, Europe marks Roma Genocide Remembrance Day, for both Sinti and Roma. Survivors like Christian Pfeil had to fight for years for recognition and compensation. Some are still waiting.
