No demographic has embraced web-based social media as completely as teenagers, but, in many respects, no one is as vulnerable to online predation as teens. The online game Smokescreen aims to teach them to protect themselves.

Adrian Hon, co-founder of the entertainment production company Six to Start, said one of the challenges in making Smokescreen was persuading teens that they didn't already know everything about the internet.

He said the game isn't about portraying the internet as brimming over with pedophiles, rather it's about educating users of social media to be careful about what information they share and how to interact with others online.
