Papal iPod is Heaven-Sent

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has one, so does US President George W. Bush. Now, German-born Pope Benedict XVI has joined the list of dignitaries who own an iPod -- in papal white, of course.

Proving he is in tune with the masses, Pope Benedict is now the owner of the ultra trendy iPod Nano, the mid-range model of Apple's must-have digital music player.

The Holy Father was presented with the gadget by staff at Vatican Radio to honor his first visit to the broadcaster's headquarters. And proving he's no slouch when it comes to cutting-edge technology, he's put his iPod to good use and has even been spotted around the Vatican sporting Apple's trademark white earphones.

According to Britain's The Sun, a Vatican spokesman confirmed this saying: "He is very pleased with the iPod. The Holy Father likes to unwind listening to it and is of the opinion that this sort of technology is the future."

There have so far been no reports about what kind of music has been included on any papal playlists, though Vatican Radio staff are said to have loaded the Nano with religious music, plus pieces by Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin.
