Pakistan's Pashtun kids struggle to go to school

In Pakistan, every third child cannot go to school, and the situation is especially dire for Pashtun kids. But many refuse to give up — like Jalal, who attends classes in a tent in the mountains. We follow Jalal and his father's fight for better education.

In Pakistan, every third child is out of school — and the situation is dire, in particular for children belonging to the ethnic group of the Pashtuns. Poverty, corruption, terrorist attacks and tradition all make it hard for these kids to get a secular education.

And yet some don't give up. We meet Jalal, whose school classes take place in a tent in the mountains, and we follow his and his father's fight for a better education.
