Non-addictive opium breakthrough

Opium has long been used in medicine as a painkiller. It's also the source of the highly-addictive drug, heroin. But UK scientists say they have discovered the secrets of a non-addictive compound in opium called Noscapine. Lead researcher at York University, Professor Ian Graham, says it could help in the treatment of cancer.
