For over a decade, Nigeria has been the most dangerous place on Earth to give birth. Almost a third of maternal deaths occur here, with one death every seven minutes. Most are from preventable complications. An NGO is bringing help where it is needed most.

Maternal health workers in Nigeria are making a difference by providing early checkups and education. At a clinic in Lagos, pregnant women receive important care to help prevent complications.

As one mother dies every seven minutes, groups like MRHC are stepping in to support women in need, encouraging them to register early and choose skilled care during delivery. However, cultural barriers and limited access to services still pose serious challenges.
