A new computer virus which exploits security loopholes in the Microsoft operating system Windows and attacks online bank accounts and transactions made by credit cards on the Web is on the loose, according to Germany's Federal Office for Security in Information Technology (BSI). The new Korgo virus is similar to the Sasser worm, which was created by a German teenager in the northern town of Waffensen. Like Sasser, which disabled millions of systems worldwide last month, Korgo does not require users to open an email to unleash its destructive capability on online banking passwords and credit card numbers. Affected users are advised to change all passwords for online banking transactions and apply for new credit cards.
