Modi urges Indian self-reliance in Independence Day address

In a lengthy speech to mark India's Independence Day amid a trade war with the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged India to move towards more self-reliance. He vowed to protect farmers and announced lower taxes to boost consumption.
