Member of Ukraine's parliament assassinated in Lviv

A manhunt is underway in Ukraine after the former speaker of parliament Andriy Parubiy was assassinated in Lviv. Police said the lawmaker died instantly from gunshot wounds. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the shooting was "carefully planned."

Andriy Parubiy, a key figure in Ukraine’s pro-democracy movements, was shot dead in Lviv. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the killing and pledged a full investigation, calling it a "carefully planned" crime. Parubiy played a leading role in the Orange Revolution and Maidan protests, advocating for Ukraine’s independence and EU integration. As police search for the killer, many lawmakers suspect Russian involvement.
