Measurements

A television system can be viewed as a chain of different technologies and many processing steps are necessary before a complete product of combined images and sound appears on a television set. In addition, all of the involved technical installations must be compatible with each other.
The measurement of signals is a tool for quality assurance. International standards have been developed for the production, broadcasting and reception of television signals. These standards define the critical physical parameters which must be monitored and maintained to ensure the technical quality of the final product: the "television program"
