At least 20 people have been killed in flooding in Pakistan this week, as authorities struggle to deal with the current crisis. The army has been called into eastern Punjab province to co-ordinate rescue and relief efforts. Many people in the disaster zone have been left without food and medical supplies.

Severe flooding in Pakistan's Punjab province has displaced hundreds of thousands and submerged over 1,700 villages. Crops, homes and livestock have been destroyed, leaving 1.4 million people affected. Locals report a lack of warning and aid, while officials say relief efforts are underway. The floods follow heavy monsoon rains and water releases from Indian dams, echoing the devastation of Pakistan's 2022 floods.
