A case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), or Mad Cow disease, has been found on a farm in the northern region of Brandenburg, reported a spokeswoman for the Uckermark region on Wednesday. The infection was found during a routine test on a slaughtered cow on November 14 and the results confirmed by another laboratory. An additional 52 cows in the infected animal's herd were destroyed. Test are currently being carried out to see if they carried the brain-wasting disease.
