London: Parklets on the rise in British capital

In London, cars take up too much room while pedestrians and residents don’t have enough. There is also a shortage of public green spaces. That is why some Londoners are taking matters into their own hands.

Jammed streets, air pollution and noise are daily issues even for the most stoic of London's inhabitants. Traffic for the city’s roughly 9 million residents is quite a nuisance. Despite a decline in the number of registered cars over the last 10 years, residents like Rachael Swynnerton believe that vehicles still play a predominant role in London. She has been taking matters in her own hands to literally drive the cars away.
