Kenya and the Gen Z protests — The 77 Percent

June 27, 2025

The 25th of June marks a year since thousands of Kenyans took to the streets protesting the controversial finance bill. When Kenya’s president William Ruto passed the bill, protesters stormed parliament and police opened fire on protesters. 60 deaths related to police violence during these protests are being investigated.
