Kateri grew up in Minnesota, surrounded by trees, lakes and a myriad of plaid lumberjack shirts. At age 16, she packed her bags for Germany, and much to her parents' despair, is still in the country. In Berlin, Kateri studied German literature, cultural science and the arts and club scene.

After completing an 18-month cadetship at Deutsche Welle and a stint as a freelancer, Kateri joined Deutsche Welle's English Features department as host and producer of the business program Money Talks and the culture and lifestyle show Eurovox.
