American filmmaker Jim Jarmusch won his first Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for a film exploring complex family relationships across three cities. Known for his dry humor, Jarmusch called the award an “unexpected honour.” The Silver Lion went to "The Voice of Hind Rajab," a powerful re-enactment of a Palestinian girl’s final moments in Gaza. Directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, it received a 23-minute standing ovation.
