Thirteen Jewish graves have been smeared with anti-Semitic graffiti at a cemetery in Kehl, southwest Germany, prompting the authorities to post a reward for information on those responsible, local police said on Monday. The tombstones were covered with swastikas and the words "Hitler lives" written on them with candle holders taken from other graves, a spokesman said. The police said they have no leads as yet, and city prosecutors have offered a €3,000 ($4,000) reward for information leading to the capture of the vandals. Numerous Jewish graves in Alsace, the French region neighboring Kehl, have been attacked by vandals in recent months. The attacks have also targeted Christian and Muslim cemeteries and destroyed a total of some 400 graves from all three confessions.
