In Berlin, Zelenskyy teams up with EU leaders for Trump call

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for talks on an upcoming meeting between Russia's Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. Afterwards, other European leaders joined them in a videocall with Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met German Chancellor Friedrich Merzin Berlin ahead of the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska. Ukraine and its allies are excluded, raising fears Putin may push for territorial concessions. Zelenskyy and Merz insist Ukraine’s sovereignty must be respected. Trump called his talks with Zelenskyy "very friendly" and warned of severe consequences if Russia refuses to end its aggression.
