Roma people around the world face discrimination and poverty.

Lajos Orsos is a former television producer who has worked hard to leave the poverty of his childhood behind and make his way in Hungarian society. He is determined to help other disadvantaged children do the same.

Two years ago, he created the program Way out of the Roma Settlement. He wants to act as a bridge between young people and potential employers and encourage children from disadvantaged backgrounds to realize their full potential.

DW spoke to him about his personal experience and his mission to help others.
