Thousands of female doctors in Pakistan leave the medical profession due to family priorities. But the nation needs medics so now an educational initiative is helping former doctors get back into the field.
Research by Gallup Pakistan and PRIDE across Pakistan indicates that up to 35% — that's more than 36,000 — of female doctors in Pakistan are unemployed.
e-Doctor, a joint project launched in 2018 by the education platform Educast and Dow University of Health Sciences, is trying to plug the gap.
