On Amorgos Island, part of the Greek Cyclades island group, locals are worried about the future of the Orthodox Christian monastery. For them, Father Spyridon is the heart and soul of the community.

High above the Aegean Sea, the Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa has stood watch over the Greek island of Amorgos for centuries.

Today, Father Spyridon — one of only two remaining monks — keeps its traditions alive. As faith wanes among younger generations, the monastery remains a spiritual anchor for the island's 2,000 residents.

From daily prayers to village visits, Spyridon's quiet devotion continues to shape life on Amorgos. But with no successors in sight, the future of this sacred place hangs in the balance.
