Far-right AfD's core support comes from eastern Germany

Support for the far-right AfD doubled in Germany's 2025 election. Most of it came from the former East Germany, where deep divisions remain, nearly 35 years after German reunification. DW spoke with residents of Frankfurt (Oder), on the border with Poland.
