Fashion World Cup Finalists Picked

Thirty up-and-coming designers have made it to the finals of the "Catwalk with Ball" competition. Around 200 hopefuls from 13 countries applied for the competition, providing judges with some 550 designs. Applicants were supposed to create clothes that connected the worlds of soccer and fashion.

The finalists now have until Dec. 20 to turn their drawings into reality. The clothes will then be presented this spring at international fashion trade fairs in Berlin and Düsseldorf. A highlight to the events will certainly be the fact that players, their wives and female soccer pros will be the ones parading the designer clothes up and down the catwalk. Besides getting professional support in entering the fashion business, the winner of the competition will also have the chance to present more of his or her creations on the international stage.
