Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam is Africa's largest hydroelectric project and one of the largest globally. Built on the Blue Nile, it promises to transform Ethiopia's economy and electrify millions.

But the dam has sparked tensions with Egypt and Sudan, who fear for their water security.

Despite the absence of a regional agreement, Ethiopia began filling the dam and generating power, raising hopes at home and concerns abroad.
