Going for Gold
June 29, 2007DW-RADIO won gold and silver at the 2007 New York Festivals Radio Programming and Promotion Awards. Now in its 50th year, the prize recognizes "The World's Best Work" in radio programming and promotion. The entries are judged by panels of radio experts from stations and companies throughout the world for their production values, organization, presentation of information, creativity and use of the medium.
This year's winners were "Living in Germany: The Trabi," a radio report for DW-RADIO's English-language service by Kyle James, who also works for DW-WORLD.DE. James received a gold medal for his story. Silver in the category Education went to the "Mission Europe" radio series, a European co-operation between DW-RADIO, Polskie Radio and Radio France International.
