Decreasing firearms in Central Africa

Reports point to a rise in armed violence in African countries, like Cameroon and the Central African Republic. Although some of the violence is due to extremist groups, the ready availability of small arms and weapons poses a problem. In 2011 a number of Central African states signed on to an accord on small arms. But, most signatory nations have failed to ratify the agreement into domestic law.
