Authorities partially evacuated the terminal after about 45 passengers on a flight from Amsterdam had complained about nausea.
Firemen, members of the Federal Border Guard and police officers then entered the plane with gas masks to help passengers debark. Emergency medical personnel immediately examined the patients, but could not detect any serious injuries or illnesses.
Instead, all passengers said they were feeling much better after breathing in fresh air for a few minutes. Authorities finally determined the reason for the problem: A woman had failed to close her nail polish bottle properly, causing it to spill. The plane's air-conditioning system had spread the fumes throughout the cabin.
