China Google Affair Continues

China said on Thursday that international Internet firms were welcome to work in the country but that they had to stick to the law. It was Beijing's first reaction since Google, the world’s largest search engine, announced that it was thinking of pulling out of China.

On Tuesday, Google announced that it had uncovered what it called a "highly sophisticated attack" on its email service that was aimed at Chinese human rights activists.

China insists that the Internet is "open" but that there are explicit stipulations as to how information and content can be spread online.
