Charlie Kirk killing condemned by Trump

A manhunt is underway after US right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while hosting an event at a university in Utah. Kirk, an ally of US President Donald Trump, was hit in the neck by a single shot and died of his injuries in hospital.

US conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while speaking about gun violence at Utah Valley University. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes and criticized lax security.

Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was known for mobilizing young conservatives. His death sparked bipartisan outrage, with President Donald Trump blaming the "radical left". The US Congress held a moment of silence.
