Charli Shield is a journalist specializing in audio and narrative storytelling, with a focus on the climate and environment.
She is an experienced podcast and radio host, audio producer, and climate reporter for DW. Originally from Australia, she's now based in Germany. She tells immersive, in-depth stories about people, their environments, and the planet’s future for the DW Environment desk’s weekly podcast and radio show Living Planet.
Charli also co-created DW’s award-winning history podcast Don't Drink the Milk: The Curious History of Things about the strange and surprising stories behind things we think we know well. She produced its top three performing episodes to date, one of which won a Publisher Award for Best Culture Podcast. Her work has been nominated for multiple audio awards, including The Ambies, The International Women’s Podcast Awards and the European Digital Media Awards.
