Brigitte Rubbel, the Head Usher in the Bundestag

The German parliament is setting its own example amid the debate over whether to introduce a quota for women in senior management positions. For the first time, a woman is in charge of the some 80 parliamentary ushers. The ushers, who are easily identifiable by their tailcoat uniforms, are responsible for the elected representatives' comfort and providing important information. They also help keep order in the chamber. Their new boss is 50 year-old Brigitte Rubbel.
