Strong Beer Season in Bavaria
Since the 17th century, extra strong beers have traditionally been served in Bavaria during Lent. The high malt and alcohol content beverage was once referred to as "liquid bread". Nowadays the strong beer season is celebrated in style in traditional taverns like the Griesbräu in Murnau.

Christian Clemens from Bamberg only planned to spend a semester in India, as part of his degree in Business Administration. But while there he discovered a gap in the market: there was no place to buy German beer. So Clemens developed his own beer brand and has been brewing up business in India for a year.

Günther Kollmar, head of the Oettinger Brewery, breaks all the beer industry's rules; he doesn't advertise his products, doesn't do deals with restaurants and bars and has his beer delivered by his own company.
