Aldo Sanchez Vera

As an author, video reporter and factchecker, Aldo Sanchez Vera researches socially and internationally relevant topics.
Aldo is a Mexican video journalist working for DW’s fact-checking team and the Spanish news TV and social media channels, DW Español. He studied journalism and audiovisual media production at the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla and the Hochschule der Medien inStuttgart.
He also obtained an M.A. in "International Media Studies” at DW Akademie, after researching journalistic autonomy, digitalization, and information security in Lebanon. In 2024, he completed the DW compact journalistic traineeship where he obtained new journalistic, fact-checking, and visual storytelling skills.
Before living in Germany, Aldo worked as a presenter and scriptwriter for the Mexican TV channel Canal Once and hosted a radio show on human rights and social issues at Ibero 90.9. Among other things, Aldo is passionate about maps, geopolitics, visual storytelling, and music.
