Economic hope has been rapidly replaced by concern about slowing growth and rising inflation in Turkey. And now, added to this troublesome cocktail is the decision of the country's constitutional court to accept a case calling for closing out the ruling Islamic-rooted AK party on charges of undermining the secular state.

Turkey faces the prospect of having no leader and government, just as the Turkish economy is facing some of its most challenging economic conditions.
