We begin in Chile, where the official death toll has now risen to 76 following the massive 8-point-8 magnitude earthquake that struck the country early this morning. A tsunami alert has been issued for all Pacific nations. A tsunami triggered by the tremors has reportedly caused serious damage to parts of the Juan Fernandez islands west of Chile. +++LM REIN+++ The initial quake struck offshore some 115 kilometers northeast of Concepcion - the country's second largest city. It knocked down buildings in the capital Santiago - more than 300 kilometers from the epicenter. A number of powerful aftershocks have jolted the country.
