A look at past controversies over the Nobel Prize

Last week, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. It oversees the international Chemical Weapons Convention and is currently involved in destroying Syria's stockpile of these banned munitions. It was praised by most as a deserved prize. But some of the Norwegian Nobel Committee's decisions in the past have been rather more controversial.
