Der Europäische Freiwilligendienst ist Teil des Programms JUGEND der Europäischen Kommission. Sie wird dabei von den Nationalagenturen 30 europäischer Länder unterstützt. Für die Arbeit In Portugal ist das "Instituto Português da Juventude" zuständig. Was zieht eigentlich junge Leute zum Arbeiten nach Portugal? Was mussten sie dafür tun?

Some 10,000 young people between the ages of 18 and 25 participate each year in the European Volunteer Service, also known as EVS. In Portugal, the Portugal Institute for Youth is responsible for the national program. The number of volunteers coming to Portugal have doubled in the past three years. But what moves young people to go to Portugal for work ? What kind of work awaits them and what is the daily life of a volunteer like?

Chaque année environ 10 000 jeunes de 18 à 25 ans participent au Service volontaire européen, en abrégé SVE. Le Service volontaire constitue un des principaux volets du programme européen "JEUNESSE". Au Portugal c’est « l’Instituto Português da Juventude ». Et ses responsables constatent : au cours des trois dernières années le nombre des volontaires qui ont choisi le Portugal a presque doublé.
